Since 1983, Haven House NWI has provided emergency shelter for Domestic Violence victims and their children in Hammond, Indiana.
Our services are FREE and confidential. The first concern at Haven House is to respond to a domestic crisis with safe emergency housing and basic daily necessities for the survivor.
Our goal is to assist with long term solutions for each family by offering resources and referrals to agencies to assist survivors with establishing independent living skills while increasing safety and stability.

Our Services
Haven House NWI provides emergency shelter and support services for domestic violence survivors and their children in Northwest Indiana and surrounding areas.
All services are FREE of charge to the survivor and their children and include:

Haven House is a 25 bed domestic violence shelter which provides emergency shelter services for domestic violence survivors and their children.

Shelter staff are available 24/7 to assist survivors with crisis intervention and referrals.

Shelter staff provide advocacy services as well as act as court liaison’s for survivors.
Assistance filing orders of protection/no contact orders is provided to shelter residents and the community upon request.

Referrals for mental health and medical services for shelter residents and their children are provided

Group and individual counseling offered by staff MSW to shelter residents and survivors living in the community.

Haven House staff assist survivors with filing orders of protection and/or no contact orders.
